Why do artists and creatives love flowers? Flowers are inspirational. With their vivid colours, wonderful scent, magnificent beauty, and gentle petals, they conjure up strong feelings within us.

What does a spirit animal as a creative person mean to you?

As artists and creatives, we can all become blocked. Artist block is a version of writer’s block and with it comes the fear of not being able to create.

Poems about paintings are called ekphrastic poems, a term used to describe literary portrayals of pictorial works of art.  Poems about paintings can make them transposable and powerful, they can destabilise our beliefs, challenging us and making us see things from different perspectives.  It is interesting to observe that these two artistic mediums (visual and  literary)  can complement each other and make them more powerful.  

Artists create art collections to showcases a cohesive body of work that represents their artistic vision, style, or thematic exploration.

Today, 4 November 2021, I am pleased to introduce my latest addition to the ‘Little Bird’ series of paintings, the first American Birds Collection. These four small original oil paintings on stretched canvas are inspired by nature and the diverse world around us.

I will be exhibiting at Parallax Art Fair on 23-24 October 2021 (11am – 5pm), held in Kensington Town Hall.

Art provides a means of expressing our imagination from things we see, places we visit, from ideas and dreams, and from the work created by other artists who inspire and stimulate us to grow and improve our skills.

When it comes to painting in oils, it takes time, patience and care to create your artistic vision.

You may be considering commissioning a Pet Portrait, or a Bird or Animal Painting, but have no idea of how to go about the process of getting your envisioned piece created.  

Every artist has different ambitions and motivations.

When you are thinking about framing an original oil painting, pastel, watercolour, acrylic, sketch, or fine art print, there are a lot of things to consider.

As a fine artist, it is important to know what buyers like about my paintings. But is this the most significant aspect of an artist’s work?

We all create (whether it is making a cake, writing a book, building or decorating a house); creation comes from intention, meaning and inspiration.

We all need meaning in our lives but with the current chaos Covid has brought, it feels like life has been put on hold. It is hard to escape the mundane.
